Torpoint Lady Singers Ladies Choir in Cornwall
Cabaret Evening: Friday 20 February 2015
Torpoint Lady Singers

The ladies entertained a packed Council Chambers to an evening of song, attended by the Mayor Cllr Mike Pearn MBE and the Mayoress, Val Pearn. Amongst a host of other selections, they sang Without A Song, Stormy Weather and a medley of music from Fiddler On The Roof. Songs from their home county were represented by the amusing piece, Skippers of St Ives. Sarah Thomas and Judy Jenkins performed a lively version of We're A Couple Of Swells, and additional support was provided by John Stubberfield (guitar) and Dave Mashford (accordian) who both led sessions of communal singing.

The varied programme was directed by MD Sylvia Fraser.

Sue Westwell gave her usual superb accompaniment to the ladies for their programme of music.

Chris Trethewey acted as Master of Ceremonies.

Lin Curtis provided some very amusing moments from her selections of comic poetry and prose.

As always, a table of wonderful, sweet delights was awaiting the audience for the half-time interval.
